Jonathan Barkin, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 25516) and assistant clinical professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Barkin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He received both his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Denver. Dr. Barkin completed his doctoral internship at the University of Colorado, Boulder and his post-doctoral work at the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center for OCD and Anxiety in San Rafael, California. Prior to starting his own practice, Dr. Barkin spent 8 years as a partner at the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy. He is co-author of The Relaxation & Stress Reduction Workbook for Teens.
Dr. Barkin is a contributing member of the Cognitive Behavior Therapy community, providing training and consultation to other clinicians, as well as maintaining a sharp focus on all advances in treatment. As an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Barkin provides supervision on Cognitive Behavior Therapy and has published research as part of a clinical trial treating anxiety and depression.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Barkin is an active musician, spends time with his partner and two children, and enjoys getting out on the Bay or into the mountains.
